The residue was dissolved in methylene chloride (12 mL) to obtain a methylene chloride solution of acid chloride. After 2,4-dihydroxy-5-chloropyridine (1.5 g) was fluxed in hexamethyldisilazane (15 mL) for 6 hours, the solvent was evaporated, and the resulting residue was dissolved in methylene chloride (30 mL). The above methylene chloride solution of acid chloride was added dropwise thereto under ice cooling, and anhydrous stannic chloride (0.15 mL) was subsequently added thereto. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 15 hours.
