YieldReaction ConditionsOperation in experiment
With triethylamine; In acetonitrile; at 20℃; for 3h;Inert atmosphere; Cooling with ice; General procedure: A solution of a 2-chloroimidazolinium chloride in MeCN was added to an ice-cooled solution of a secondary amine in MeCN containing Et3N and then the mixture was stirred either at r.t. or under reflux. After removal of insoluble precipitates by filtration, evaporation of the filtrate followed by column chromatography (NH-silica gel) gave a guanidinium chloride. In the case of a hexafluorophosphate salt the residue was treated according to the stepwise procedure given in GP1.
