79% In ethanol; for 4h;Reflux; General procedure: To a solution of 3,4-dimethyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carbohydrazide (1 eq.) in a minimum volume ofethanol (~1.5 mL) was added a solution of a substituted acetophenone (4a?l, 1 eq.) in minimumethanol (~1.5 mL). The reaction mixture was refluxed for 4?5 h, then cooled to room temperature andpoured into ice cold water. The solid product suspended was collected by vacuum filtration and thendried at 70 C. The desired product was recrystallized from ethanol and dried.
