Then, RhH(CO)(PPh3)3 (10.0 mol%, 23.0 mg), 4-phenylthiazole 1a (0.25 mmol, 40.3 mg)and 2-methylthiothiazole 5 (0.75 mmol, 78 L) were added to the solution, and the mixture was heated at reflux for 3 h. Then, the solvent was removed under reduced pressure, and the residue was purified byflash columm chromatography on silica gel giving 2-(methylthio)-4-phenylthiazole 3a (38.5 mg, 74%). 3a11
