43% With norborn-2-ene; dichloro bis(acetonitrile) palladium(II); potassium carbonate; In N,N-dimethyl acetamide; water; at 90℃; for 4h; A 30 mL vial was charged with a magnetic sir bar, 5,7-difluoro-1H-indole C5 (250 mg, 1.6 mmol), <strong>[103962-05-6]1-iodo-4-(trifluoromethoxy)benzene</strong> (495 mg, 1.72 mmol), DMA (1.5 mL), water (250 µL), K2CO3 (566 mg, 4.10 mmol), norbornene (310 mg, 3.3 mmol), and bis(acetonitrile)palladium dichloride (42 mg, 0.16 mmol). The mixture was heated to 90 C for 4 hours. After cooling to room temperature, the mixture was diluted with water and extracted with EtOAc. The organic extract was dried with MgSO4, filtered, and concentrated in vacuo. Silica gel chromatography (Eluent: 10% EtOAc in heptane) afforded the product (250 mg, 43%) LCMS m/z 314.01 [M+H]+.
