YieldReaction ConditionsOperation in experiment
Heating; General procedure: In a glass vial, 9,9?-bianthracene (20 mg) was dissolved ina solvent (ca. 0.80 mL) by heating on a hot plate. The solutionwas allowed to stand at room temperature for severaldays. The formed crystals were collected and dried on a filterpaper, which were used for the NMR or TG/DTA measurements.1H NMR spectra were measured with a solution ofthe crystals in CDCl3,and host-guest ratio was determinedby reading the intensities of appropriated signals due to thehost and guest compounds. Competitive inclusion experimentsby using a mixture of two solvents were similarly performed, and the ratio of the included guests was determinedby the 1H NMR spectra. Each experiment was performed atleast three times, and an averaged value was adopted. Theexperimental errors in the host-guest and guest-guest ratiosare within 3%.
