The reaction mixture was heated at 140 C for 1 hr. After cooling to rt, ethyl acetate (10 mL) and water (20 mL) was added and the solids were filtered and washed with water and dried to give ethyl 4-(3-cyano-4-((tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-yl)oxy)phenyl)-1 H-pyrrolo[2,3- b]pyridine-2-carboxylate (500 mgs) LCMS-ESI+ (m/z): [M+H]+ calcd for C22H21 N3O4 as (M+H)+ 392.4 found: 392.1
