The mixture was heated to reflux and stirred overnight. Benzene was removed under reduced pressure, and the residue was purified on a silica gel column with 5-10 % ethyl acetate/petroleum ether as eluant to give 4-(l,3-dioxolan-2-yl)cyclohexanone (9.1 g, 44%) as a colorless oil.1H NMR, (400 MHz, CDCl3) delta 4.73 (d, J= 4.4 Hz, 1 H), 3.99-3.83 (m, 4 H), 2.44-2.24 (m, 4 H), 2.13-2.09 (m, 2 H), 2.03-1.94 (m, 1 H), 1.65-1.53 (m, 2 H).
