The organic solvent is removed under reduced pressure and the crude is purified by flash column chromatography (eluent DCM 100%) to give the expected compound (0.433 g, 1.64 mmol, Yield: 66%). 1H-NMR (CDCl3) delta (ppm): 3.59 (dd, J=10.86, 7.34 Hz, 1 H); 3.49 (ddd, J=l 1.15, 8.22, 4.11 Hz, 1 H); 3.40 (d, J=6.75 Hz, 2 H); 3.28-3.37 (m, 1 H); 3.11 (dd, J=11.00, 7.48 Hz, 1 H); 2.45-2.73 (m, 1 H); 1.98-2.14 (m, 1 H); 1.64-1.79 (m, 1 H); 1.47 (s, 9 H)
		(S)-1-tert-Butoxycarbonylpyrrolidine-3-methanol [CASRN 199174-24-8] and (R)-1-tert-butoxycarbonylpyrrolidine-3-methanol [CASRN 138108-72-2] can be converted to the corresponding bromide by the procedure of M. O. Polla et al. Bioorg. Med. Chem. Lett. 2004 12:1151-1175.
