YieldReaction ConditionsOperation in experiment
98% With cyclohexa-1,4-diene; tetrabutylammomium bromide; In chloroform; water; at 100℃; for 6h; General procedure: A mixture of disodium maleate 1 (0.125 mol), bromoalkanoic acids 2a?d (0.25 mol), N-tetrabutyl ammonium bromide (0.00801 mol), as a phase transfer catalyst, and 1,4-dihydrobenzol (0.0680 mol), as a polymerization inhibitor, was dissolved in a mixture of de-ionized water (40 ml) and chloroform (25 ml) and the reaction mixture was refluxed at 100 °C with vigorous stirring for 6 h. The organic layer was separated, washed with distilled water and dried using anhydrous magnesium sulfate. The chloroform was removed under reduced pressure and the solid obtained was filtrated off and recrystallized from chloroform to give fatty acids 3a?d.
